Maximum Bidding

Using Maximum Bidding is just like having someone watch over your auctions when you're not there to make sure you always have a winning bid.

You set the maximum amount you are willing to pay and the Charity Folks' Maximum Bidding feature ensures that you get the best deal by submitting the smallest incremental bid possible to keep you a winner!

The Maximum Bid feature will never bid higher than you tell it to. If the bidding in an auction goes over your maximum bid, you will be sent an e-mail to let you know. To enter a new bid or set an new Maximum Bid, simply return to the lot's page before closing and set a new Maximum Bid or submit a regular bid.

1) How do I use it?

  • Enter your User Name and your Password on the bid page.
  • Enter your maximum bid price in the text field.
  • Press the "SET MAX" bid button
  • Confirm your maximum bid when asked to.
  • That is all.

2) How does it work?

  • The Maximum Bid feature determines winning bids using the same order of precedence we use for our regular auctions.
  • Maximum bids will be submitted automatically if your current high bid is outbid. This DOES NOT guarantee that you will bid this exact amount. A bidder can not place two bids in a row.
  • Only you know your maximum bid price. It is kept secret from all other bidders.
  • Think carefully before bidding! Once you submit a maximum Bid, you may not retract it.

3) What happens if my Maximum Bid is outbid?

  • If the Maximum Bid you have set is outbid you will receive an e-mail stating that "you have been outbid...".
  • Click on the link provided to return to the auction before closing.
  • You can then counter with a new bid or a new Maximum Bid.

Premium Bidding

For Lots that reach a bidding level of $5,000 or higher Charity Folks uses Premium Bidding. Registering for a Premium Bidding account is simple and only takes a few seconds. This helps us ensure that all bids are genuine and that the charities we are working with receive the funds that they are trying to raise.

Multiple Auctions/Deadlines/Popcorn Bidding:

Multiple auctions may take place at the same time and new auctions are added to the Web site periodically. Please note that the timing of any individual auction or lot may vary. Listings close at the time specified, however, listings may be automatically extended by last minute bids ("Popcorn Bidding") in some individual auctions. In the individual auctions utilizing Popcorn Bidding, if a bid is placed in the last 10 minutes of an auction, the close time will be extended by 10 minutes. This will continue until no bids are placed within the last 10 minutes of the auction’s new close time. Popcorn Bidding may be implemented in any individual auction at the Sellers sole discretion. Not all individual auctions will contain Popcorn Bidding.
