Not a bidder? Register now! Besides being free, easy, secure, and only taking a few minutes, it is a great way to make a difference in the world.

How do I bid on an item?
Once you find an item you're interested in, it's easy to place a bid. Here's how:
1. To bid on item, you'll need to register first. Then carefully look over the item listing, making sure to read not only the title and description, but also the terms so you are aware of any restrictions.
2. Click BID NOW and enter your User Name and Password and then click the BID NOW button. You can also enter a Maximum Bid if you choose.
3. That's it! You'll get an e-mail confirming your bid and an additional e-mail if you are "outbid."At the end of the auction, you'll receive another e-mail indicating whether you've won.

Can I just buy an item?
Buy Now
A green BUY NOW button indicates you can purchase the item immediately for the set amount listed next to the BUY NOW button without waiting for the auction to end. It’s up to you - you can choose to place a bid and compete in the auction or use BUY NOW to purchase the item immediately. If an item is purchased using BUY NOW, the auction will close immediately and it will no longer be available. If a BUY NOW button is not visible, you must compete in the auction. A BUY NOW transaction trumps all bids.

To purchase the item at the BUY NOW price, click the BUY NOW button. A new screen will pop with key information. Once you review that information and want to move forward with your purchase, simply enter your username and password and click BUY NOW. You will then receive an order confirmation email with payment information. Payment is due within 30 minutes of purchase. If payment is not received within 30 minutes, the item will be relisted and your Charity Folks account will be permanently closed.

Look for items with a BUY NOW price by using the pull down menu at the top of the auction catalog page. Change Bid Now to Buy Now and browse listings available for immediate purchase by their BUY NOW prices.

What is a reserve?
Some auctions have a reserve price, a hidden minimum price, on their item. How it works:
A reserve price is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for the item.

As a buyer, you are not shown the reserve price, only whether or not the reserve has been met.

The seller is not obligated to sell the item if the reserve price is not met.

The winning bidder must meet or exceed the reserve price and have the highest bid.

When you're bidding on an item with a Reserve Price, bid as usual, entering the maximum amount you're willing to pay for the item. Watch the label next to the current bid to see whether the reserve price has been met. Until you see that the reserve price has been met, there have been no successful bids in the auction. Once the reserve has been met, the item will sell to the highest bidder when the auction closes.

If your maximum bid is the first to meet or exceed the reserve price, the effective bid displayed will automatically be raised to the reserve price.

Premium Bidding
Lots that reach bidding levels of $2,500 or higher require Premium Bidding. Registering for a Premium Bidding account is simple and only takes a few seconds. This helps us ensure that all bids are genuine and that the charities we are working with receive the funds that they are trying to raise. Popcorn Bidding
If a bid is placed during the last 10 minutes on a lot during the auction, the closing time will be automatically extended for an additional 10 minutes from the time of the latest bid. The lot will close once all bidding activity has stopped for a period of 10 minutes. Note: Current Bid Amount is not "live." Click Refresh to update it or to see if the auction has been automatically extended by a last minute bid.

How do I pay for an item?
Charity Folks accepts payment through PayPal, the safer, easier way to pay and get paid online. The service allows anyone to pay in any way they prefer, including through credit cards, bank accounts, buyer credit or account balances, without sharing financial information. PayPal has received more than 20 awards for excellence from the internet industry and the business community. If you don't already have a PayPal account, please take a moment to set one up. It's fast, easy and free!. Payment is due within 30 minutes of purchase. If payment is not received within 30 minutes, the item will be relisted and your Charity Folks account will be permanently closed.

Where is my order?
To find your order log-in to your account and click on the "My Orders" tab. Browse for the order you need information on and expand the details. After the order details have expanded look for the tracking number. All orders are shipped via Federal Express.

I bought an experience how can I schedule it?
To schedule an experience simply email us at concierge@charityfolks.com. Please include your order number. You will hear back from your concierge in under 48 hours.

I have a question about an item. How can I get more info?
To receive information about a specific item at auction please use the "Ask A question" feature found under the picture of the item on the "place a bid" page.

How do I manage my email subscription?
To be the first to know about our auctions & events, either provide your email address under the Stay Connected header on the Charity Folks homepage or click on the Newsletter Sign-Up link at the bottom. To unsubscribe from our emails, simply click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email alert we send.
