The Jeremy Wilson Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping uninsured and underinsured musicians and their dependents in times of medical crisis. The Foundation also hopes to aid musicians and their families in preventative health care through education, special programs and incentives to assist them in acquiring adequate health insurance.
The foundation's name-sake musician, Jeremy Wilson, a former band mate of Decemberists drummer John Moen, formed the foundation because of his personal experience being diagnosed with a serious congenital heart condition called Wolf-Parkinson-White. He has learned, by what he calls "his education by fire,” about the incredible need to get better health care for musicians. Because of the great outpouring of goodwill he has seen in the last four years, Jeremy wants to pay forward the same energy. Jeremy created this foundation with the help of an incredible cast of friends, well-wishers, music fans, industry professionals and others.
