 Who We Are
The Mississippi Animal Rescue League (MARL) is a 501-c-3 non-profit organization that for over 34 years has dedicated itself to the prevention of cruelty to animals. MARL is supported solely by donations and memberships and receives no federal, state or city funds.
MARL is an open door shelter which means that we welcome every animal that looks to us for sanctuary and shelter. At present, we are receiving over 14,000 animals a year! At a cost of over $550,000. Along with all the dogs and cats we receive, we have also taken in horses, cougars, tigers, apes, monkeys, goats, snakes and birds.
During the past 34 years, we have become the place where animals can find safe shelter, medical treatment and abundant loving care. We have become the place where pets can find homes, and families can welcome new loved ones. MARL speaks for those that have no voice.
