Kelly Fiore, CEO & Member of the Board
Kelly is the CEO of Charity Folks and is responsible for overall business strategy and development, public relations and branding, as well as administration, finance & legal. Her innovative approach to fundraising has attracted an array of hallmark nonprofit organizations, high-profile celebrity philanthropists and top-brand corporations. Prior to joining Charity Folks, Kelly was a Strategic Portfolio Analyst at Lehman Brothers, personally responsible for advising some of the wealthiest "Forbes 100" families in the country with portfolio allocation, investment strategies and asset management. She started her career at Goldman Sachs in Private Client Services and holds degrees from Fairfield University in Finance and Economics.
Larry Buchalter, Series A Investor & Chairman of the Board
Larry Buchalter retired as a Partner from Goldman Sachs in early 2001. At Goldman, he worked with Fortune 500 companies on financing strategies and financial risk management. He also led the firm's high yield bond underwriting unit and co-led the firm's electronic commerce initiatives, served on the firm's technology committee and chaired its internet strategy committee. In leading the electronic commerce efforts of the firm, Larry oversaw the formation of four online financial service businesses and sat on the boards of each. Following retirement, Larry co-founded and raised the funds for a $1.3 billion hedge fund, from which he retired during 2006. He also served on a wide variety of boards, both corporate and non-profit. Larry currently serves on the boards of Charity Folks, Inc. (New York City), Hoop-A-Paluza (Millburn, NJ), the New Jersey Healthcare Foundation (Millburn, NJ), the Early Childhood Learning Center (Chatham, NJ and Ho Ho Kus, NJ), the Visiting Investment Committee of the University of Delaware (Newark, DE) and St. Barnabus Medical Center (Livingston, NJ). Larry graduated from the University of Delaware in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1987.
John Copeland, Series A Investor & Member of the Board
John has been a Managing Director in Private Client Services at Lehman Brothers since January 2001. Prior to that, he was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse First Boston, responsible for creating a national high-net-worth wealth management platform. He began his career at Goldman Sachs and Co., where he was an MD in Private Client Services, in both New York and Boston. John has served as a Visiting Professor at Tufts University and is a Trustee and member of the Investment Committee at the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church. John graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University with a degree in English and Economics, received a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School and an M.S. from MIT's Sloan School.
JJ Rosen, Series A Investor & Member of the Board
JJ is Executive Vice President of SONY BMG MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT’s Commercial Music Group. Rosen oversees core strategic marketing and business development efforts, including the company's master synchronization licensing activities for film, television, commercials and other related areas of entertainment. He also supervises the Commercial Music Group's Custom Marketing Group, and oversees the digital marketing and sales activities for all of the Commercial Music Groups' operations. Rosen joined the company in 2002 when the company he co-founded, Run Tones, was acquired by SBME as part of the launch of the company’s Mobile Products Group. Prior to that Rosen was the co-founder and President of N2K Inc., a publicly traded music company that was acquired by CDNow. Rosen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Economy from Tulane University, and an MBA in Finance from Rutgers University.
William Hulbig, Series A Investor & Board Observer
Bill was the founder/CEO (35 years) of MicroGroup, a prominent supplier of miniature, precision, metal components for the medical device industry. He created rapid and sustained growth for MicroGroup through a very unusual route - by becoming the largest advertiser in the Thomas Register of American Manufacturers. MicroGroup was also a pioneer in applying direct marketing to high-technology contract manufacturing. He sold MicroGroup to private equity firms in both 2002 and 2005. During those 35 years, he founded many other unrelated businesses. Although Hulbig is a mechanical engineer (BSME, Stevens Institute of Technology), he is best known for applying "engineering" analysis techniques to sales, marketing, and strategic planning in the fields of technology, consumer products, media, and software.
