The Princess Grace Foundation-USA was founded in 1982 to carry on the legacy of Princess Grace of Monaco, an avid supporter of the performing arts. Working in conjunction with nominating schools and non-profit companies, the Princess Grace Awards recognize the talent of individual artists in theater, dance, and film.
 This unique collaborative process fills vast voids in the artistic community: scholarships, apprenticeships, and fellowships give emerging artists the financial assistance and moral encouragement to focus on artistic excellence; monetary support for the nominating organizations eases fund raising challenges, directing resources toward the creative process. The Princess Grace Foundation-USA is a registered 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization; all contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
 During Her lifetime, Princess Grace of Monaco was deeply committed to helping emerging artists realize their career goals. The Princess Grace Foundation-USA continues this mission in Her honor. National in scope, the Princess Grace Foundation-USA is dedicated to identifying and assisting emerging talent in theater, dance, and film by awarding grants in the form of scholarships, apprenticeships, and fellowships. The Foundation’s trustees share Princes Grace’s dedication to supporting the arts and they believe, as She did, that cultivation and training of emerging talent is essential to ensure sustained excellence in the arts.

  Each year, the Foundation announces a select group of Princess Grace Awards for distinction in the areas of theater, dance, and film. Students are eligible for scholarships; emerging artists working in theater and dance companies qualify for apprenticeships and fellowships. A playwriting fellowship is available for individual artists through a residency at New Dramatists in New York City. Applicants are nominated by the organization at which they will complete their scholarships, apprenticeships, or fellowships. Submissions are reviewed by panels consisting of professionals from each discipline and members of the Foundation’s volunteer Arts Advisory Board. Since 1984, the Foundation has supported more than 400 artists from over 100 institutions nationwide.
